2021 Lend A Hand Grant Awards

4-H Cornell Cooperative Extension

Grant funding will be used for the renovation of the 4-H Training Center outdoor arena bleachers.

After the Fire, Inc.

Funding will be used to continue giving fire victims gift cards for supplies they have lost in the fire. Grant will also allow for the purchase of personal items.

Amorak Youth

Grant funding will help with music tutoring costs and update and repair of donated musical instruments.

Battenkill Community Services, Inc.

The funds from this grant will be used for Adaptive Yoga. 

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Southern Adirondacks, Inc.

Funding will help support the ability to recruit, screen, train, and support One Child and One Mentor and their families with whom they are matched.

 

Bikeatoga

This grant will help provide free bicycles, helmets, safety equipment, locks, and maintenance to all without question.

 

Books' in Kids Hands Corporation

Grant funding will be used to purchase new books twice a year for children in our area.

Camp Abilities Saratoga

Camp Abilities Saratoga will transform the grant that it receives into lifechanging experiences. Camp Abilities Saratoga campers become physically active while gaining the self-confidence needed to face future challenges.

C.R.E.A.T.E. Community Studios

Funding will allow the continuation of the program focusing on marginalized members of our community, specifically low-income youth in the Saratoga Springs Community.

Family Service Assocation of Glens Falls, Inc.

Funds will go to directly helping children in low-income areas purchase new shoes for school.

First Baptist Church of Ballston Spa

Grant funding will be used to help families experiencing food insecurity by providing lunches during the months of July and August when free or reduced priced lunches are not available through the school system.

Flutters of Hope, Inc.

Grant funding will be used for butterfly wish baskets and butterfly grants.

Franklin Community Center

Funding will help support the seventeen efficiency apartments which are affordable rental units for individuals due to the lack of availability of low-income housing within the city of Saratoga Springs.

 

 

Habitat for Humanity of Northern Saratoga, Warren, and Washington Counties

The funding will cover the cost of materials and labor for the renovation of the roof on an existing home that is being rehabbed in Corinth.

Nearcare

Grant funds will be utilized to provide respite for caregivers, companionship, transportation to medical appointments, and assistance with errands for seriously and terminally ill individuals and their families.

Nipper Knolls Equine Center

Funds will be used to care for and feed specially trained therapeutic horses. Funds will also be used to recruit and train volunteers for the program.

NYSARC, Inc. Saratoga County Chapter (Saratoga Bridges)

Grant funding will support their artists with opportunities to take classes at their Creative Endeavors Art Center and virtually by zoom that are taught by professional artists and Skidmore College Students.

Open Door Mission

Funding will contribute directly to expense and help provide food for Open Door Mission's Hunger Relief Program.

Operation Adopt a Soldier, Inc.

Grant funding will go directly towards postage to send care packages to deployed soldiers overseas.

Rebuilding Together Saratoga County

This grant will fund Home Safety kits for 125 homeowners in need. These kits will include hand sanitizer, disinfectant, smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, and many first-aid and disaster-preparedness essentials. 

Roundabout Runners

Funding will provide 5-10 scholarships to youths in Saratoga County (dues and apparel) to learn the lifelong love of running.

Saratoga Chamber Players

This grant will help support the Classroom to Concert program which enables students to learn how story ideas can be expressed in sound. Students work with professional musicians in the creation of a score which will culminate in public performances.

Saratoga County Children's Committee

The Empty Stocking Project is the largest program that the Saratoga County Children's Committee executes each  year. The grant will go towards this program. The mission is to embody the holiday spirit by giving local children gifts, clothing, and necessities during the holiday season.

Saratoga Hospital Foundation for Saratoga Community Health Center

Funding will help support immediate and long-term health needs for low-income patients through its Nutrition Rx Program.

Saratoga Pride, Pride Center of the Capital Region

Grant funding will support the Annual Pride Festival in June 2022.

Saratoga Sponsor-A-Scholar

Grandt funding will provide students with tools, such as grpahic calculators, they need to further their education and improve their chances of getting into college.

Saratoga Wilton Soccer Club

Funding will be used to purchase 25 sets of 6 foot Pugg Goals priced at $80 per set.

Senior Citizens Center of Saratoga Springs, Inc.

This grant will be used to subsidize the cost of the Center's senior bus trip program.

Shelters of Saratoga

This funding will help our neighbors facing homelessness obtain items and services that help promote self-sufficiency and sustainable housing.

SNACpack (Saratoga Nutrition Assistance for Children) Program

This grant will be used to help pay for monthly food costs. The cost of food has gone up over the past year which has caused SNACpack to continue to look for different sources of financial support.

Soul Saving Station for Every Nation of Saratoga Springs

This funding ensures a robus staff is available at all times as the shelter expands its capacity to help women and women with children.

The Ben Osborn Memborial Fund, Inc.

Grant funding will help provide local school children in need with personal hygiene kits.

The Charlton School

Funding will help support its Therapeutic Arts program. This will allow them to bring in a Visiting Artist in the field of dance and/or photography to supplement the vibrant therapy program that students benefit from.

The Wesley Community

Grant funding will help with upgrades and renovations to continue its ongoing success in cultivating nature-based engagement, fresh foods, and friendships between fellow Wesley residents and those in the broader Saratoga community.

Veterans & Community Housing Coalition

Funding will help support low-income veterans living in our commmunity overcome food insecurity by providing meat, dairy, or produce that will insure proper nutrition.
